Motability is a registered UK charity which helps disabled people become more mobile.

We can help you to use the Higher Rate Mobility Component of your Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS) to lease or buy a car.

Here at M.R. King & Sons we have dedicated Motability trained staff to help you choose the right car for you and your individual needs.

There are two ways we can help you use your Motability allowance

  • Motability Contract Hire
  • Motability Hire Purchase

Motability Contract Hire is the most popular of the Motability schemes.

You will have the useage of a car for three years with all of the servicing and maintenance worries taken off your mind. The package includes:

  • All routine servicing, including oils, lubricants and consumables
  • The replacement or repair of faulty or worn parts, including batteries, tyres and exhausts
  • Comprehensive driver information pack with authorisation card
  • Comprehensive insurance provided by Royal Sun Alliance.
    All you pay for is your fuel and the cost of of any options, accessories or special adaptations.

    Motability Hire PurchaseMotability Hire Purchase works just like conventional hire purchase, and the car becomes yours at the end of the HP period.
    Under this scheme you surrender all or part of the higher rate component to Motability Finance Ltd for four or five years. You will be responsible for the initial deposit and during the HP period you will be responsible for maintenance, service and repair, comprehensive insurance, the cost of any accessories and special adaptations, Road Fund licence (unless you hold an exemption cetificate), and the fuel you use.
