A Brief History

Although Suzuki is one of the youngest Japanese vehicle importers in the UK, having set up In 1979, the Company has been operating in the vehicle business since the mid-1950s albeit solely in Japan.

The history of Suzuki goes back much further when in 1930 Suzuki developed the first cotton loom works in Japan. Then in 1940 Suzuki mated an engine to a bicycle to develop the motorcycle principle.

Since then Suzuki has been at the forefront of leading edge design and technology in the "two wheel" world, not just in the racing world but also in the commuting and off-the-road environments.

On the "four wheel" front, the leading edge approach continued with innovative vehicles like the first 4x4 (LJ80), the first compact microvan (SuperCarry), the first Euro-size mini people carrier (Wagon R+).

1998 continued in a similar vein with exciting new product like the Jimny and Grand Vitara - strengthening the Company's 4x4 position in the market place - as well as developing the dynamic image with eye-catching and powerful motorcycles: the fuel injected GSX - R750W and the eagerly anticipated TL1OOORW.

Even on the "power products" side of Suzuki business, there is an extensive range of units to satisfy the specialist needs of the public ... either for pleasure with the Tigershark personal watercraft and the outboard motors for boats or for practical business use with generators, water-pumps and engines for lawnmowers.

Suzuki enjoys an unrivalled 75 years of experience.

Suzuki has an enviable range of value for money products.

Suzuki... the value of experience.
